Carbon Footprint

There have been many sites that let you calculate an approximate carbon foot print based on the details that you give them. Here is one I found:

www.earthlab.com

It also has loads of more information, latest news, and other interesting stuff.

Earth Hour

This was referred to by Sreevatsa Lakshmanan. Here is what he had to say:

Take a look.....

Google has turned off its lights. (but only for their US site). But www.google.co.in. still has a white background. So if you guys have missed it, I am attaching a picture of how google US looks currently.

What's your number?

What's your number?

A wonderful promotion video that I loved.

Feeding the Poor

Feeding the Poor

I came across CNN IBN's "Real Heros" and a quite curious to see what featured in their program as I heard that they honor the unsung heros of India.

Here is one of the videos of a person from Madurai who has sacrificed his 5 star career to feed the poor and the under cared.

It takes great will power and determination to throw away ones career for social service. I wish some of us can bring smiles in the lives of the needy.

Global Impact

Global Impact

A short Documentary from National Geographic and United Nations.

If you did not find time to read through some of the other mails in this "Think About This" series that I am posting, then, this video could be the one that might prompt you to think about climate change issue.

An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth

I saw this movie "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore, the former Vice-president of US, which gives scientific predictions and projections on what Global Warming has done and can do. I had heard of this movie and was on the hunt for quite a time.

You SHOULD grab the movie and watch it. For the people in the US I guess you should find this easily in any of your public libraries near by. In fact, I myself picked the DVD from Los Angeles Public Library to watch it.

If you wanted some motivation why you have to watch this - this movie won the Oscar (2007) for the best documentary, and Al Gore shared the Nobel Peace price (2007) with IPCC (UN Organization) for the efforts on climate change.
